Erik Nowacki

Consul

As of October 1st 2008, the Swedish Consulate in San Diego has a new Consul. His name is Erik Nowacki and he is an Attorney at Law. Erik has lived in the US for the past 20 years. He is married and has a 12-year old son. He is very dedicated to the Swedish community and helps out with a lot of charity work for House of Sweden and SWEA. The Consulate has moved to Mira Mesa where Mr Nowacki´s premises are located.

Katarina Keane

Vice Consul

Katarina is head of consular matters such as emergency passports, driver’s licenses, applications for co-ordination numbers and assistance to Swedish Citizens.

Consular Assistant

Joanna assists the Consul and the VIce Consul in consular matters.

Sofie Ek

Consular Intern for Technology & Trade

Sofie's position at the Consulate involves managing the Consulate's public relations and coordinating events, as well as monitoring and reporting on technology, economics and trade trends in Southern California through a newsletter.

Education: Bachelor in Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics, involving one semester at the National University of Singapore. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Marketing and Media Management from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Madeleine Magnusson

Consular Intern for PR & Communication

Madeleine's main assignments include maintaining and updating the Consulate’s website as well as managing the Consulate's public relations and coordinating events.

Education: Bachelor in Media and Communication studies and English from Karlstad University. The degree also includes Minor field studies in Kenya and extra credits in Spanish and web design.
